Dear Waterbikers, HPB Enthusiasts, ...!
we are happy to anounce that the HPV and HPB World Championships will be held again this year in Europe!
The mayor of the big city of Leer in North West Germany, close to the Netherlands, invited us and many,
many human powered vehicles on land and water will come. You have to come, too! It is not sure that we
will have such a great event in the next years or decades again, especially on the water, i.e. because I
will retire finally as Organizer... (Applicants for my follow-up are welcome!)
This time we are - in the middle of the city - camping close to the water - using rooms and bar of the
rowing club ("RuderVEREIN") - driving under a bridge full of spectators - getting food - racing the usual
disciplines - meeting water- and recumbent bikers - having a saturday evening party -
It does not matter if you or your boat are fast or slow, just come, see boats and meet people you have
seen long ago and maybe will not see for a long time.
Starting Fee € 10,- (only !!!) including food and camping ground (with your tent) per person for STUDENTS
and for HPV-Members. The rest of the world pays € 30,-. Children up to 15 and seniors
over 70 participate for free.
Registration by e-mail to me (e.g. leer2013(aett)waterbiking. org) without formal requirements.
For all participants and their immediate assistants, there is a free accommodation with a tent on a lawn
next to the water on rowing club terrain. There is also a cost-effective place to stay in the hostel Leer
(Süder Kreuz Straße 7, 26789 Leer). For upscale accommodations claims we refer to the usual internet
search portals. Parking is only some meters away for trailers, camping cars etc.
If you want to see what will happen look up the flyers (designed for printing the paper on both sides and folding it):
Flyer for boats World Championships including timetable, rules, all other information
Flyer for whole World Championships in Leer including land and water
